Meet Katie Brandon, Spa Treatment Manager

- Posted on: 11/12/2020 - $itemValue.title

1. Where are you from, and a bit about your background?

I am from the countryside in County Roscommon. I trained in Blackrock, Dublin and qualified as a CIDESCO Beauty Therapist. I have many years of experience working in salons, spas and cruise ships. I spent several years onboard cruise ships both performing treatments and training the spa teams to the highest brand standards of Elemis. My most recent role was as an international Elemis trainer which involved me travelling all around the world, training spa teams in luxury resorts and opening new luxury Elemis spas like Killeavy Castle Estate.

2. What exactly does your position at Killeavy Castle Estate entail?

I ensure the efficient day-to-day running of treatments by all Spa Therapists. I set aside a designated time each month to train and assess all Spa Therapists to ensure our guests are receiving exceptional treatment when they come to visit us. Each week I audit our guest experience by contacting previous spa guests to discuss their recent spa experience and gain their feedback. This ensures we constantly improve and develop our Spa experience to be the best in the industry.

3. What do you enjoy the most about your job?

Being both a Spa Therapist and Treatment Manager means no day is ever the same for me. I love meeting and talking to new guests from all walks of life as it is very important for me to build a strong rapport with all guests so they feel comfortable and in safe hands. There is nothing better than helping people leave our Spa looking relaxed and feeling good about themselves. When I see a guest leaving the spa looking completely zen it makes my job extremely rewarding and satisfying. It also gives me personal gratification when I hear positive feedback about the Spa Therapists whom I have trained, mentored and developed at Killeavy Castle Estate.

4. What do you love most about Killeavy Castle Estate?

After visiting hundreds of spas all over the world, there is nothing I love more than walking into a new spa, being greeted with a warm friendly smile and seeing beautiful clean facilities. Killeavy Castle Estate has exceptionally high standards and is oozing with potential. We have many innovations and plans to develop our Spa in the near future. For example, to complement our Estates Restaurant ‘Farm to Fork’ philosophy, we are developing a ‘Field to Face’ Killeavy Signature Treatment menu. Ingredients like avocado, broccoli, cucumber and blackberries are grown in our Walled Garden and we will be incorporating such ingredients into our Spa Treatments in collaboration with Elemis.

5. Two interesting facts about you?

I have currently visited 42 countries and I am an Irish twin.
