Killeavy Castle Estate is proud to announce that our housekeeping team has been named as Housekeeping Team of the Year (Under 50 rooms) at the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) Housekeeping Awards which took place at the Titanic Hotel Belfast on Wednesday 8 March 2023.
The NIHF Housekeeping Awards had a record-breaking number of entries this year and the team from Killeavy Castle Estate fought off competition from some of Northern Ireland’s top hotels emerging victorious as Housekeeping Team of the Year in the ‘Hotels with under 50 rooms’ category.
This prestigious award from the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation recognises excellence in housekeeping, with judges looking for hotels that demonstrate a commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and attention to detail. Killeavy Castle Estate's team of housekeeping staff were commended for their dedication to providing an exceptional housekeeping service for guests, ensuring that every room is well-maintained in line with the high standards of our venue.
Members of the housekeeping team at Killeavy Castle Estate attended the awards ceremony and Gala ball where they were presented with their award from events host, Barra Best.
Speaking about the award win, Cristian Fierastrau, Accommodation Manager at Killeavy Castle Estate said:
"We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. Our housekeeping team work incredibly hard to maintain the high standards that Killeavy Castle Estate is well known for, and to be named Housekeeping Team of The Year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the housekeeping team. We are thrilled to have been recognised by the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation and we look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service to our guests."
Eddie McKeever, Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) President, commented: “The Federation is delighted to return to its full calendar of events in 2023. This presents an opportunity to raise the profile of the people and specific departments within the hotel industry.
“The housekeeping competition was launched over a decade ago and pre-pandemic it was one of our most popular events. Housekeeping has often been overlooked but really came into its own during COVID-19 when its role in the provision of safe and sanitised spaces for guests became a priority. The department underpins the running of a successful hotel and is an integral part of the bedroom revenue stream. I would like to congratulate everyone who took part.”
The Northern Ireland Hotels Federation Housekeeping Awards celebrate the best in hotel housekeeping across Northern Ireland, with awards presented in a range of categories to hotels of all sizes.
The Housekeeping Team of the Year Award will join a slew of other awards and accolades received by Killeavy Castle Estate in recent months and we hope the remainder of 2023 will see us receive recognition of the efforts that the team here at Killeavy Castle Estate go to in order to deliver excellence for our guests, in every area of the hotel.
